           PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

As all over the world, child is the present and he is the future ; Pediatric Dentistry  which takes care of him  is very important . It is the second specialty to be recognized  in U.S.A. (IJPD 1997).

" Good psychological approach is the most delicate and important part of dental treatment in children if one wants to obtain a positive outcome."  (AAPD1999).

In Tunisia, most of the population is young and authorities follow child's health with great interest. In this context, the last national oral health survey (Ministry of Public Health. 1994) revealed that dental caries is the most frequent disease in schoolchildren. So Pediatric Dentistry is called to  play an important role in Tunisian Health teams.  The main goal of Pediatric Dentistry is to help child to reach adulthood with healthy dentitions.  We can achieve this aim by oral prevention, early screening and management of child's dental affections. Teeth make child able to talk, to express emotions, to smile and to enjoy eating,…

We can  talk a lot about teeth importance especially in child, but you can ask a toothless man about this.
